Witch and Cauldron Party Favor

I know that it’s only the start of September, but Halloween is already on my mind. It’s my second favorite holiday to decorate for (Christmas is #1 of course), and the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog is releasing on September 4th! (Stay tuned for lots of fun card and party favor ideas!)

I was shopping on Bath & Body Works website for some travel hand sanitizers, and stumbled upon their Halloween themed ones and felt inspired to make them a cute holder.

I started off by making my own paper to wrap the hand sanitizer. I will apologize now, you’re going to be seeing this technique a lot. I really like how you can control the colors (and empty space) when you make your own paper with stamps.

For this paper, I used the witch and cat stamps from the Cauldron Bubble Stampin’ Up! stamp set with Gray Granite ink pad. Once you have decent coverage of the paper, cut strips to accommodate your party favor gift of choice.

I had entirely too much fun coloring the witch and her cauldron with the blends markers. They dry so that you really don’t see the marker strokes. In addition, if you make bigger coloring strokes, the ink gives you a “fade” spot so that you get more texture in the coloring.
