3D Bethlehem Shadow Box

I have had so much fun designing this 3D Bethlehem shadow box. While it doesn’t have many different pieces involved, it looks so beautiful when all lit up.

The first step is to select your shadow box size. Mine is in a 9″ x 9″ frame, but it could easily be adjusted to almost any size frame. Just make sure to get a shadow box so you can create depth with the stacking of the paper layers.

Next, select your background to act as a base for your construction. I chose navy and cut a 12″ x 12″ down to a 9″ x 9″. I also gave the sky some depth of color with pretty peacock ink on a sponge brayer.

The dies are from the Night in Bethlehem set which is unfortunately retired. The star is cut from silver glimmer paper. Between each layer of town, I placed LED lights and lifted each layer with another set of dimensionals.

The end product is this lovely 3D Bethlehem shadow box which is great for gifting or keeping. The battery for the lights is replaceable, so this piece can be enjoyed for years to come.
