Organizing with a Divided Box

Every time I sit down to be crafty and start a project, I always wish I had more table space! As a result, I was in an organizing/cleaning type of mood today when I came across Miriam Permut’s Divided Box Tutorial on Facebook. Her simple instructions made me feel inspired to get my workspace more functional (and cute at the same time)!

For my lovely organizer, I used Night of Navy cardstock and Garden Impressions DSP (which I absolutely love, but is sadly retired).

Supplies:
2 pieces 8-1/2″x 11″ cardstock
4 pieces 2-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ of your favorite paper
Tombow liquid adhesive
Paper snips
Scoring tool
Paper trimmer

Step 1:
Cut cardstock in half so you have 4 pieces 5-1/2″x 8-1/2″.

Step 2:
Score one piece of cardstock longways at 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 4-1/2″, and 6-1/2″. Then score short side at 2″ and 5″.

Step 3:
Fold all score lines and cut the folds between the bottom squares. Create tabs in the 1/2″ folds.

Step 4:
Glue down the tabs across the top.

Step 5:
Fold into a box. Glue the side tab and bottom flaps.

Step 6:
Repeat with second cardstock piece. Glue the two boxes together.

Step 7:
Score third cardstock longways at 1/2″, 2-1/2″ and 4-1/2″. Score short side at 2″ and 5″. Cut tabs in the 1/2″ fold. Cut out the first square as shown below. Repeat for fourth piece of cardstock.

Step 8:
Glue the top tabs down. Glue the two pieces together so there are no gaps between the flaps for the bottom.

Step 9:
Fold into a box. Glue the side tab and bottom flaps.

Step 10:
Glue the three boxes together and add your favorite paper to the outer edges.

Step 11:
Add any extra embellishments and your favorite tools!

Step 12:
Fill up your divided box and start crafting!!
